2026 Spring Softball

WELCOME TO THE 2026 SPRING SOFTBALL REGISTRATION WITH SANDY SPRINGS YOUTH SPORTS!

All of our leagues are recreational, with an instructional focus while providing opportunities for all skill levels. Our Spring Season begins with evaluations in January and the season concludes in May.

From February to early March, teams will have one weekday practice and one weekend practice each week. When games begin, teams will play one weekday game and one on Saturday. Teams may have an additional practice during the week, depending on field space and availability.

EVALUATIONS

Please note the purpose of evaluations is to allow coaches to assess the skill level of all players to assure recreation teams are as evenly matched as possible at each age-level.

League Fees:

Registration fees include dri-fit softball jersey, pants, belt and matching socks. Additional equipment required: batting helmet; (with face mask and chin strap); mitt/glove; bat; softball safety fielder’s mask. Cleats are optional but encouraged.

We have a registration fee per participant to cover our registration costs. This is a mandatory, non-refundable fee, and applies to all participants, including those requesting a scholarship. Thanks for your understanding.

If you plan to apply for a scholarship, please REGISTER 1st! and during checkout, select Deposit and enter $50. That includes your registration fee and $25 towards the program cost. Welcome to Softball

Our Spring season is for players of every skill level and introduces various levels of competition while providing amazing experiences for players of all abilities.

Our Fall Season is a developmental season which is all about learning and having fun. Girls play in the league in which they will be in the spring of the next year (aging up occurs in the fall). The season is designed to focus on skill development with early season clinics, practices on Wednesdays and games on Sundays from late August through late October. It is the perfect season to work on new skills or to find out of softball is the sport for you! This season is great for players of all abilities to improve their skills.

AGE GROUPS
Rookie League (6U): Birth dates between: 9/1/2018 - 8/31/2020
The Rookie League for our 6u players is an instructional 4-6 year old league that introduces proper techniques for fielding, throwing, catching and hitting a softball, all while having a lot of fun. The Rookie League is coach pitch with a tee if needed.

Minor League (8U): Birth dates between: 9/1/2016 - 8/31/2018
The Minor League for our 8u players is an instructional and developmental 7-8 year old league that follows ASA rules with local modification for recreational play. The Minor League introduces and reinforces softball fundamentals of fielding, throwing, catching, hitting and base running. The Minor League is coach pitch.

Major League (10U): Birth dates between: 9/1/2014 - 8/31/2016
The Major League for our 10u players provides an instructional and developmental 9-10 year old league that follows ASA rules with local modification for recreational play. The Major League introduces and reinforces more advanced rules such as pitching, stealing and defensive control of the ball. The Major League is kid pitch with coach rescue.

Junior League (12U): Birth dates between: 9/1/2012 - 8/31/2014
The Junior League for our 12u players provides an instructional, developmental and more competitive 11-12 year old league that follows ASA rules with local modification for recreational play. The Junior League is kid pitch only.

VOLUNTEERING

It takes a village to make SSYS Softball great! Our program is mostly run with parent/family and community volunteers. We are always in need of coaches but are also in need of several positions on the Softball committee. SCHOLARSHIPS

SSYS softball does not want any child to be excluded based on financial hardship/cost. Financial aid scholarships are available for qualifying families. Mildly used equipment may also be available based on need. If you are in need of a scholarship please complete this form.
