Good Evening SSYS Families,

While Mother Nature blessed Atlanta with amazing weather this past weekend, it has left Atlanta cold and rainy this week. Sadly, the forecasted cold weather for this Saturday has led us to canceling this upcoming weekends Opening Day Ceremony. With so many special guests joining us for our festivities, it was park leadership's opinion that the cold temperatures were not the ideal way to celebrate the kick off to our season.

With that said, this is NOT a cancellation of Opening Day games. As of right now, it's our sincere hope that we can still play many of our games on Saturday, but asking for our park families, friends, players, and city leadership to endure the cold temperatures is not something that will make Opening Day ideal. Our baseball and softball leadership are closely monitoring the weather conditions and will make Saturday's game decisions closer to game time so please make sure you are checking your emails and the sports engine app for updates from your coaches over the next few days.

Opening Day is truly a showcase of our amazing park and we will miss this amazing experience, but rest assurred, Sandy Springs Youth Sports is already working on making sure we have another celebration for our amazing park families. It's our hope to share with you the details and dates to that event in the upcoming days.

Again, we are disappointed that this year's Opening Day Ceremony will not occur, but it is still our hope that we will be able to play ball this weekend.
